Forests Monitor Charitable Trust

Forests Monitor Charitable Trust is a separate organisation from Forests Monitor Ltd, although the work of both organisations are complementary.

The activities of the Trust include public education and outreach concerning the use of timber and its effects on forests and the people that depend on them for their livelihoods; environmental research and networking for partner organisations.

The Objects of the Trust are:

  • To promote the conservation of forests and forest habitat worldwide, including the protection of the environmental goods and services provided by forests, especially those goods and services used by forest dependent peoples.

  • To advance the education of the public in environmental matters, particularly, but not exclusively, those matters concerning the effects of logging and deforestation and their impact on the natural environment and that of forest dependent peoples.

  • To carry out or promote research, for the public benefit, into all aspects relating to the effects of deforestation and environmental degradation on the natural environment, forest dependent peoples and world ecology and to publish the useful results of such research.
  • Forests Monitor Charitable Trust has been a registered charity since June 2003. Registration number 1097779
