Field mission reports

Law enforcement missions are undertaken by forest ministry officials. The Independent Monitor's role, in this case REM, is to observe how these missions are carried out. Its observations and recommendations are included in mission reports. The Monitor also undertakes independent missions aiming to detect forest illegalities.

Warning: The Monitor, REM, undertakes short missions. If mission reports do not find infractions it does not necessarily mean there is no infraction, but that during this mission, no infraction was found.

    • Update on unpublished mission reports

    The following reports are currently waiting to be reviewed by the Reading Committee :
    Submitted on 29 May = Report N°19 : Sangha Department , SEFYD (Forest Unit JUA IKYE), SIFCO (FU TALA TALA), IFO (FU NGOMBE), CIB (FU KABO) and CIB (FU POKOLA), mission between 12 March - 2 April 2009. Submitted on 31 August = Report N°22 : Likouala Department, LIKOUALA TIMBER (FU BETOU, MISSA), ITBL (FU MIMBELLI), MOKABI (FU MOKABI), BPL (FU LOPOLA), THANRY CONGO (FU IPENDJA), and CIB (FU LOUNDOUNGOU TOUKOULAKA), mission 11 June - 08 July 2009.

    The following reports are currently being finalised :
    Report N°23 : Plateaux Department, SOFIA (FU ABALA), mission 07-12 September 2009. Pilot reports from Shadow Team in Training (civil society): Kouilou Department, TRABEC (FU Boubissi) + Sangha Department, IFO (FU NGOMBE) and SEFYD (FU JUA IKIE), missions in July and August.
